Pupil Premium
St. Edward's has all pupils at the centre of the school vision and mission and seeks to ensure that all pupils have access to the entire curriculum and experience a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. This is achieved through various funding strands. To enhance provision for pupils from challenging financial or social backgrounds the school receives assistance through the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG). Much of this funding is based on Free School Meals (FSM) entitlement and also other Benefit entitlement. Therefore it is very important that parents ensure they apply/renew their application for FSM.
Pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
Pupil premium is paid to the local authorities in quarterly installments. Local authorities then manage the funding and decide when to pass it on to the schools they fund.
